The Maritime Museum of B.C. and the Northwest Maritime Centre in Port Townsend, Washington, are calling competitive nautical folk to join a 1 200 kilometre, non-motorized marathon from Port Townsend to Ketchikan, Alaska.

October is a month filled with ghoulish stories preparing you for the one day deceased souls can be found among the living, Oct. 31—Halloween. Evil Acres, a haunted house located in North Saanich, brings scary stories to life through an interactive slaughterhouse, Slaughter House Extreme, and maze, the Darkness Maze.
Had you told me I’d be contemplating bohemian life on a boat in the Inner Harbour while taking a breather from a boho-gypsy-folk-punk concert, I would have never believed you. I realized being bohemian is more than a trend—it’s a nomadic-state of being in which all art is celebrated.
Fernwood Animation Project draws community support
On Sept. 26, Felicita’s hosted a hip hop show featuring local talent: Downtown Mischief, Pigeon Hole, and Sweatshop Union from Vancouver. I’m relatively naïve to hip hop, but generally focus on forward-thinking artists who provoke emotion through the lyrics they spit.
Last weekend marked the second annual Garden City Grooves music festival, celebrating three nights of soul, funk, and groove music. The two masterminds behind the festival are Nathan Ambrose and Groovin’ Reuven Sussman, both active members in the Victoria arts community.
