OTTAWA — Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty announced on Feb. 26 that the federal government will not renew the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation. It will be replaced by the Canada Student Grant Program, one of several investments in post-secondary education the government intends to make in the next few years.

The biodiversity of bird species on UVic’s campus has declined drastically in the last 30 years. The Natural Features Survey, commissioned by UVic’s facilities management department to aid in sustainable development, documented the loss of 24 of the 123 bird species once common on campus.
