| Ultimate club, ultimate battle | | | Playing ultimate may be a blast, but for members of UVic’s Ultimate Club, the sport is about more than fun. These club members are out to win.

 | UVic curlers rock past bureaucracy to compete | | Tough competition optional. That’s the motto of the recently created UVic Curling Club.
Jessica Page, Mark Wright, and Grayson Hall started the Curling Club in October as a place for students to learn to curl and to improve their existing curling skills by competing in a casual, friendly atmosphere.
“This was our way of creating a club so that everybody could get a chance to try and see how fun it was,” said Page. “It’s more fun just enjoying being out there and learning about the game as opposed to really being competitive about it,” said Wright. Every Sunday the club meets at the Victoria Curling Club from 8 to 10 p.m. to compete amongst the club’s 12 teams of four. The skills of the members range from the most basic beginner to people who have been curling for years.
