Gardening not just for outdoors
Summer is here, and that means it’s time for gardening.
But what if you don’t have a backyard or time to play in soil? Fear not. There are cheap, easy ways to grow plants right in your own home. Indoor gardening is just as fun as outdoor gardening; it’s clean and involves no time pulling the weeds that would invade your plants outside.
At times it is hard to find the right plants for your home, but there are tricks to making the best choices. First you must scan the space where you’d like to place the plants. Is it small, close to the ceiling or lacking in sunlight? Observing which spots are most soothing to the eye will help in bring life into your home.
Once you’ve found a space, you need to find a plant that is not only visually appealing, but will also fit your lifestyle.
A first choice would be a simple cactus. Cacti requires minimal water and look great in any room. Put one on your desk to give you a visual vacation while studying. The only drawback of a cactus is that it needs to be in a spot where there is lots of sunlight. Be careful when placing this plant, since they are quite prickly. One wrong move and you’ll be crying in pain.
Another fine choice would be a lily plant called the Lucky Bamboo Plant. Its unique leaves and structure will mesmorize you for hours. This plant is a must-have for a student since it is said to bring good fortune, which is always needed during exams. Lucky Bamboo is also a popular feng shui cure. Do not place this plant in direct sunlight, as this will cause the leaves to burn.
Like the look of minature objects? The infamous Bonsai Tree is so tiny, you’ll fall in love with it. The best thing is that you can trim it to the way you want it to look, which makes this plant not only a decoration, but a hobby as well. Just be careful when you are pruning the tree; do not over prune.
Even once the summer sun has decided to hibernate, with a little TLC, your indoor plants will continue to keep your life bright.
