If you are a new to voting in B.C., recently moved, or just turned 18, you'll need to update your voter registration by tomorrow night on the Elections BC website. You can still register when you go to vote, it just makes the process quicker if you register online in advance. The event was hosted by Moms Stop the Harm, a group of families impacted by substance use that advocates for decriminalization, safe supply, and harm reduction. After collaborating with Black Lives Matter activi After collaborating with Black Lives Matter activists on a mural reading "more justice, more peace," city officials informed artists that part of the mural would be removed. VicPD complained about the murals inclusion of the slogan ACAB, which stands for all cops are bastards. ACAB alludes to the systemic nature of police violence. The full story is live on our website.
Two local community hamper programs are addressing Two local community hamper programs are addressing food security and food waste. Community Food Support Initiative operates with a mission to make food free and accessible to those who need it by reclaiming food. This month, they plan to deliver their 1000th hamper. The UVSS Student Hamper Program has been operating out of the SUB, offering about 40-50 hampers every two weeks.
