Roller derby ruckus

On July 27, Archie Browning Arena was full to the brim with team spirit and rainbow socks for the Eves of Destruction roller-derby league’s double-header annual Pride bout. The double-header match saw the hometown junior team, the Rotten Apples, face off against the Honey Badgers and local derby queens the Belles of the Brawl against the Hula Honeys. Both matches were hard-fought, and final scores favoured hometown heroes the Belles of the Brawl and away junior team the Honey Badgers. Eves of Destruction roller-derby events take place about once per month at the arena during the home season. The next match is on Sept. 21.
